Follow @TeekayCorp on Instagram for a sneak peak of our seafarers’ lives at sea!
To mark the celebration of this year’s Seafarer Day, we will be handing over our Instagram account @TeekayCorp to our seafarers. From June 22 to June 26, three seafarers will document their busy days and provide a sneak peak of their life and career at sea. This year’s campaign, held annually by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), has a focus on maritime education and showing “how the multi-faceted maritime world offers a series of rich and fulfilling career opportunities for young people, both at sea and ashore.” At Teekay, we take pride in the 5,900 talented seafarers we have sailing across the world. Since 2013, we have taken part in the Seafarer Day campaign to show our appreciation for their hard work and commitment to bringing energy to the world with Teekay SPIRIT. To support this year’s campaign, we asked our seafarers to show us what it is like to work at sea. Tune in from June 22 to June 26 as Trond Arne, Robert Puttman and Ainoa Juan take over our Instagram feed. But first, let us introduce them:
Trond Arne, FPSO Petrojarl KnarrInstagram Takeover: Monday, June 22 Trond Arne joined Teekay in 2011 and has been onboard several of Teekay’s Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units in the past few years. As an E/I Technician, Trond Arne has worked on Petrojarl Varg, Petrojarl I, Foinaven, Voyageur Spirit and Teekay’s largest FPSO project to date, Petrojarl Knarr. In the past two years, Trond Arne spent time working at the Samsung shipyard where Petrojarl Knarr was built and took part in the sailaway from Korea to Haugeseund. “Teekay is lucky with all the people they hired, the best of Teekay are the coworkers I have.” |

Since then, he has been onboard the Ocean Shield, Ocean Protector, Alexander Spirit and Lowlands Brilliance. Robert was part of the team onboard the Royal Australian Navy’s vessel, Ocean Shield, managed by Teekay for naval research work. One of the most exciting highlights of his career is the “huge network of great people” he has met. Ainoa Juan, Soyo LNGInstagram Takeover: June 26 Ainoa Juan joined Teekay in 2012. Her great performance as a cadet helped her make her way into Teekay. She has been part of Hispania Spirit, Catalunya Spirit and is now boarding her third consecutive voyage on Soyo LNG. Ainoa won the Operational Leadership Award in Q1 2015 for her outstanding safety and leadership behaviors. Her interest in photography started since she was very young.
