Celebrating Our Achievements in 2015!
As 2015 quickly comes to an end, we are taking the opportunity to look back and celebrate this year’s successes, and look forward, to see what we still need to accomplish. If you are an employee, a customer, an investor, a partner or simply have been following our journey, we thank you for all your valuable contributions. In an organization of over 7,000 sea and shore staff working in many different parts of the world, it is difficult to entirely see the work we do. However, we take pride in the hard work put in by each of us to uphold Teekay’s high standards. This year we saw some ups and some downs, but most importantly, we worked together through it and achieved a lot. Here are our top 15 moments of 2015: .
#1 Safety FirstIt is without doubt that safety comes first. No compromises. We work to create a safe heavy industry work environment. In doing so, we are able to celebrate many Lost-Time-Injury (LTI) Free milestones. Congratulations to all the teams who have reached an LTI free milestone this year! |

#2 Delivery of Arendal SpiritEarlier this year we took delivery of Arendal Spirit, Teekay’s first unit for maintenance and safety (UMS). The vessel was under construction at the COSCO shipyard in China and was towed to Brazilian waters where it started its three-year charter contract with Petrobras. The delivery of Arendal Spirit is of special significance as it represents our position as market leaders offering diverse, reliable and safe solutions to offshore companies. |

#3 Delivery of Petrojarl KnarrTeekay’s biggest project to date, Petrojarl Knarr, was delivered and achieved first oil this year. The floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit is currently operating in the Knarr field which has estimated gross recoverable reserves of around 80 million barrels of oil equivalent with a production life of at least ten years. Petrojarl Knarr is currently under a six-year charter contract with BG Group. |

#4 Acquisition of 12 Suezmax VesselsOn August 5, Teekay Tankers announced the acquisition of 12 modern Suezmax tankers. These on-the-water vessels more than doubled Teekay Tankers’ owned Suezmax fleet and solidified Teekay Tankers’ position as the largest owner and operator of mid-size crude oil tankers. On October, Teekay Tankers finalized the delivery of all 12 Suezmax vessels. |

#5 Another Canadian Flag After 10 YearsFrom coast to coast, Teekay’s arrival to Eastern Canada is of special significance as Teekay has had a long-standing presence on the West Coast in Vancouver, British Columbia. This year Teekay entered into a new long-term shuttle contract with Canada Hibernia Holding Corporation to provide shuttle tankers services for loading crude at Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose and Hebron offshore oil fields. In September, Navion Hispania arrived at Conception Bay and acquired her Canadian flag. |

#6 Teekay’s First MEGI LNG VesselThis year we started construction of Creole Spirit, Teekay’s first LNG vessel powered with M-type, Electronically Controlled, Gas Injection (MEGI) twin engines. Since then, the vessel was launched and has undergone sea and gas trials. Creole Spirit is the first of nine MEGI LNG vessels which are designed to be significantly more fuel-efficient and have lower emission levels than other engines currently being used in LNG shipping. |

#7 Seafarer DayIt is difficult to imagine what life at sea is like, day in, day out. At Teekay, we support Day of the Seafarer every year to salute our seafaring colleagues. They are our front line team, bringing energy to the world. This year we went onboard the Pinnacle Spirit to capture their day-to-day activities, while some other seafarers took over our Instagram account to show us what their lives at sea is like. |

#8 TeekayAustraliaWhat does Teekay do in Australia? Well, Teekay Australia is the pre-eminent ship operations and marine services company in Australia. As a proof of this, in September we hosted an Australian Takeover of Teekay’s social media channels to showcase the diverse number of projects and businesses handled by our teams in Australia. Some our work, to name a few, are involved with the world’s largest floating structure, the world’s largest port by volume and the world’s quietest research vessel. #9 Life at Sea on the European SpiritWhen a video hits 40,000 views means you have to watch it over and over again, right? We took you on a journey – the journey of our seafarers and what their lives at sea looks like. This journey was captured on a video watched by thousands of you. So hit the play button again and embark on the vessel tour of the European Spirit. |

#10 Delivery of Six ALP VesselsLast year Teekay acquired ALP Maritime Services adding a new business segment to Teekay Offshore – long distance towage. This year we took delivery of six of these vessels which are specially designed for the long-distance towing, positioning, mooring and hook-up market. The vessel have been doing its job well done as they have completed numerous towing operations, including Songa Equinox, SSDR NOBLE PAUL ROMANO and the Transocean SSDR Sedco 707. |

#11 One Tanker TeamIf you attended Teekay Tankers’ seafarer conference in Mumbai or Manila this year, you have heard and felt the team’s main objective: “by working together, we will operate the best ships in the industry.” As the Tanker team integrates new vessels into their fleet, working together as “One Tanker Team” is the key to maintaining their reputation as a leading tanker brand. |

#12 CairnsForTheWinTeekay Australia is the Prime Contractor in a patrol boat tender to the Commonwealth of Australia to deliver a single class of up to 21 compliant steel-hulled patrol vessels, built to commercial standards, for 13 Pacific Island Countries in order to fulfill Australia’s obligation to the Pacific Maritime Security Program. Teekay is leading the Cairns Solution bid, we say #CairnsForTheWin! |

#13 800 Million StepsThis year 89 Teekay teams across the globe completed the 100-day Global Corporate Challenge (GCC) taking on at least 10,000 steps a day. The results? 799,627,158 steps, 317,994 miles and 32,085,928 calories burned. Incredible #TeekaySpirit was seen throughout the entire journey. Employees took on mini-challenges and worked together to cross that 100-day finish line with pride. |

#14 Three ISVs for Shell’s Prelude FLNGTeekay Australia‘s joint venture with KOTUG International B.V., KT Maritime was awarded the contract to supply specialized tugs known as Infield Support Vessels (ISVs) for the Shell Prelude Floating LNG Facility – the world’s largest floating offshore facility. This year, the first two vessels, RT Beagle Bay and RT Kuri Bay, were launched at the ASL Shipyard in Singapore. A great moment it was – since the team also celebrated one million man hours without any lost time injuries (LTI). |
