Teekay Australia (Teekay Shipping (Australia) Pty Ltd) is the preeminent ship operations and marine services company in Australia today. We manage a diverse, worldwide fleet of owned and third party managed vessels, providing technical management as well as crew management and training.

Our main focus areas include Crewing, Ship Management, Towage, Technical Consultancy and Management, Agency Operation, Voyage Operations, and Project Management.

2012: awarded construction supervision and technical management for four LNG newbuildings at Hudong shipyard by BG Group. Later, Teekay entered a sale-and-leaseback arrangement, further strengthening our relationship with the energy major.

Our Australian team is responsible for the technical and manning management for the Australian ADV Ocean Shield. The Ocean shield was deployed extensively in the search for missing Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 in the Indian Ocean. It is now supporting Australian Customs & Border Patrol projects.

In August 2014 the Investigator – the most advanced deep-water research vessel ever built – was handed over to The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), and the Australian Government.
This remarkable vessel will be the new benchmark for research vessels worldwide. She enters service fully commissioned, less than three years after award of the design and construction contract; a remarkable feat given the size and complexity of the project.
