On August 28, the Knarr FPSO crossed the equator while on her way to the North Sea, where the vessels will be producing Oil for BG at the Knarr field, some 120 km off the Norwegian coast. The crew celebrated this event in great style. The ceremony of Crossing the Line is an initiation rite that commemorates a vessel’s first crossing of the Equator. Sailors who have already crossed the Equator are nicknamed Shellbacks and are often referred to as Sons of Neptune.
