Petrojarl Knarr model consists of 650 LEGO bricks
FPSO Petrojarl Knarr is Teekay’s largest project to date – and now has a LEGO version! Last month, the FPSO achieved first oil in the Knarr field and our team in the Trondheim office got some inspiration to create this LEGO model. Petrojarl Knarr measures 256.4 meters long and 48 meters wide, and has an oil production capacity of 63,000 bopd. The LEGO model was designed in a 1:50K scale measuring approximately 55 cm long and 10 cm wide. When complete, the vessel consists of 650 LEGO bricks. The vessel is highly-detailed, both the cranes and the turret are rotatable. The flare is flickering and LEDs light up in the turret-area and behind the lifeboat stations. Along the ship is the escape tunnel, which workers use should there ever be need for an emergency evacuation. Escape routes are also plotted on the deck in yellow throughout the vessel. There’s also a large firewall with a laydown area and the helideck.
