Teekay today announced that CEO Peter Evensen will retire at the end of January 2017. He will be succeeded by Kenneth Hvid, currently CEO of Teekay Offshore Group Services Ltd. Full details are available in various press releases on the Teekay website: In the Teekay press release, Peter said, “It has been an honor and privilege to lead this company, and I am very confident that Kenneth Hvid is the right person to be my successor to lead Teekay into the next phase of its strategy. Teekay’s success is largely about how we work together as a team not only within the company but also with our customers and business partners.” Later, in his message to colleagues, he reiterated, “we have the right values and, most importantly, in all of you, the best team in the business to take Teekay forward,” but reminded people “I am not leaving until the end of January 2017.” From everyone at Teekay, it’s been fun, Peter!
