In August 2014 the Investigator – the most advanced deep-water research vessel ever built – was handed over to The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and the Australian Government. This remarkable vessel will be the new benchmark for research vessels worldwide. She enters service fully commissioned, less than three years after award of the design and construction contract; a remarkable feat given the size and complexity of the project.
