Logitel’s Unit for Maintenance and Safety (UMS) are vessels built on Sevan Marine’s cylindrical hull design. This advanced piece of engineering ensures a stable platform with high uptime and a large storage capacity. From 2014 to 2017, three Units for Maintenance and Safety will be built at the COSCO shipyard in China. The first vessel, the Arendal Spirit, has already begun her sea trials. She is scheduled to commence operations for Petrobras in Brazil during the first half of 2015. The vessel has secured a 3-year charter contract, including extension options. Facilities on board the Arendal Spirit are designed to high international standards. The vessel contains 500 beds in 248 cabins with en-suite bathrooms, daylight windows, television, internet and telephone connections, lounge areas, coffee shop, television and game room, fitness room, dining room, office areas, meeting/conference room and cinema. The start-up of operations will mark a milestone and signifies natural growth for Teekay Offshore. Teekay Offshore has more than 30 years of DP offshore experience.
