The Teekay Petrojarl and Odebrecht Oil and Gas (OOG) aframax to FPSO conversion project, underway at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore, is rapidly accelerating towards completion. The joint venture project has come a long way since contract signing in October 2010. After approximately 10 million man-hours without a lost-time injury, the vessel, named FPSO Cidade de Itajaí, completed its final dry-docking on June 10, moving the project into its final stages. Mechanical completion is in full swing and commissioning activities are scheduled to complete at the end of July. Operational personnel are preparing for the transit voyage and start-up of the unit. Once up and running, the FPSO Petrojarl Cidade de Itajai will be Teekay’s second FPSO unit in Brazil. The vessel, on a fixed-rate contract to Petrobras, will service the Bauna and Piracaba accumulations in the Santos Basin, corresponding to the areas of Tiro and Sidon, respectively.
