“I have enjoyed every role in its own way”
Rebekah joined Teekay as Admin Officer and Towage Coordinator in 2000. In the past 15 years, she has seen the fleet expand from six tugs to 14 tugs and from 60 employees to over 200. Since starting our Port Hedland office, she has had many titles – Admin Officer, Towage Coordinator, Senior Towage Coordinator, Payroll Officer, Crew Coordinator, General Purpose Hand and the Acting Ops Manager. She has even left twice, but nothing “can match the fast paced and varied days that we have here. Each time I’ve returned to town I’ve slipped back into a role at Teekay and it feels like I’ve come home.” “I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every role in its own way but I will be forever grateful to the General Manager at the time for giving me the opportunity to take on the Acting Ops Manager role and to all the employees for assisting me while I was appointed.”
