Captain Sallem Kunumal and his crew offered a warm welcome to TGP Board members who visited Lobito in dry-dock on August 28 in Ferrol, Spain. Among the visitors were TGP Chairperson Jane Hinkley and Director Bev Park who received a guided visit of the cargo containment tanks and the engine room.
Counting over 1393 days loss time injury (LTI) free, Miss. Hinkley stressed that records like these are the ones that give Teekay its strong reputation in the industry and are “what gives us a chance to compete in the big wide world”. As for Miss. Park, this was her first time in an LNG Cargo tank and it certainly made a lasting impression. She also congratulated the crew for their outstanding commitment to safety. Coming from the forestry industry in British Columbia, Beverlee upheld that a strong safety record acts as a “barometer for what a good operation looks like”.
