Launch of Transshipment Service in Fos Cavaou, France
November 26, 2015 – Teekay is to support transshipment services at the Fos Cavaou LNG Terminal located in Fos-sur-Mer, France through a partnership agreement signed with Fosmax LNG. As the proprietor of the Fos Cavaou LNG terminal, Fosmax LNG serves all operators who wish to import natural liquefied gas (LNG) to supply the French market and the European markets connected to the French transmission system. Set to start December 1, 2015 this transshipment service will allow for the transfer of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) through cryogenic hoses, by mooring two vessels in double banking alongside the terminal jetty. In conjunction with Fosmax LNG, Teekay has developed extensive procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations through this new service. In addition, Boil-off gas generated by this operation will be managed by the terminal, providing greater operational and environmental efficiency.Transshipments that use the infrastructure of the Fos Cavaou terminal provides a higher level of availability. The Fos Cavaou LNG terminal offers the favorable marine and metocean conditions of the Mediterranean, including a jetty that is protected from swell, an absence of tides and an access channel that can accommodate two vessels at the same time together with the highest level of professional port services.Fosmax LNG
