“Remember that by challenging ourselves and our colleagues, we ensure that all of us get home safely.”
A letter to the Teide Spirit team (and those who sailed onboard over the past ten years) from our Health Safety Environment Quality (HSEQ) Director:“It is my great pleasure to write this message to offer my congratulations and thanks to all the seafarers who have sailed on the Teide Spirit over the last ten years. They have all contributed to an absolutely outstanding achievement of ten years LTI free.
This achievement has come about through the dedication and hard work of a large number of people (and I am sure there are many persons over ten years) working together as a cohesive team to achieve the common goal of creating a safe work environment.
In order for us to achieve an injury and incident free work place we all need strictly follow procedures, diligently use all the risk management tools available and maintain a focus on Operational Leadership, which have been developed with the ultimate goal of zero incidents and zero pollution in mind. Remember that by challenging ourselves and our colleagues, we ensure that all of us get home safely to our families and friends at the end of the tour of duty.
There is no greater reward or recognition any of us can receive than returning home safely and seeing the people we work with do the same. Please keep this in mind as you go about your daily work and continue to hold each other accountable for your as well as their safety.
Thank you once again for your collective effort in ensuring that all our colleagues go home safely to their family and friends. This is a really significant milestone in the vessel’s history and demonstrates a lot of collective effort on everyone’s part. I take this opportunity to wish all of you smooth seas and safe voyages.
Continue this wonderful tradition to keep your vessel accident free.”
