Happy World Maritime Day!
This year’s World Maritime Day set forth by International Maritime Organization (IMO) focuses on the importance of a sustainable maritime sector and the need to build a better and greener post-pandemic world. The theme this year, “New Technologies for Greener Shipping”, reflects the need to support a green transition of the maritime sector into a more sustainable future.
The world relies on ships to transport commodities, energy, food, and essentials which we all depend on every day. At Teekay, we bring energy to the world and our people are indispensable to making this happen.
This is why Teekay recognizes the importance of a sustainable maritime sector and the need to build back a better and greener future. We understand the pivotal role of innovation, research and development, and new technologies in allowing the maritime sector to transition into a more sustainable industry.
We echo IMO in the support for greener alternatives and have conducted regular training exercises within our fleet to keep everyone aware and involved.
